This series of paintings were made to portray the feelings of numbness, disassociation and grieving ‘normal’ experiences.
Often times throughout my life I've found myself relying on medication for a glimpse of reality and to feel what I’m "supposed" to.
The faces of each figure have been hidden as this is how it feels when depersonalisation
sets in; embracing yourself to try and feel safe. i.e - whilst locking yourself in the bathroom (usually the only room with a lock).
